Pecan Trees

Pecan trees bloom at different times.

Type 1 pecan trees are receptive to pollen later in the season.

Type 2 pecan trees are receptive to pollen earlier in the season.

For adequate cross-pollination, it is best to plant a Type 1 with a Type 2, and no more than 125 feet apart.

NOTE: To fit your tree in a shipping box, we will cut the tip of your tree. The lowest scaffold branch on a young pecan tree is generally not lower than 4–5 feet. Therefore your pecan tree will arrive with little to no scaffold branches. This is desirable for healthy growth.
