One of the fastest-growing trees in the world, the Royal Empress is often grown for its hardwood timber. In the spring, the Arctic Empress produces beautiful white flowers with purple centers before leafing out. This is the non-invasive variety that is more cold tolerant than others, capable of withstanding -15F.
