Mexican Buckeye Tree

NOTE: If this tree does not fit in the box, the top will be cut.

Mexican buckeye is not an actual buckeye tree. It is in the Soapberry family. It flourishes in Texas limestone soils along stream banks and damp canyons. In spring, its flowering is reminiscent of eastern redbuds. Pink blossoms transition to a pale green as the season progresses. In autumn, the foliage transforms into a vibrant golden yellow. This versatile plant can be cultivated as a large, coarse multi-trunk shrub or shaped into a small tree. Also called Monillo, Mona, Texas Buckeye, Spanish Buckeye, New Mexican Buckeye, False Buckeye, Canyon Buckeye.
