The Water Oak is known for being able to grow in wet, swampy areas. It is also able to grow in good well-drained soil. The leaves in the fall are yellow. These oaks have been used as street trees and shade trees throughout history. They are easy to care for and grow to a mature height of 50-80 feet at a fast pace of two feet per year. Can be used as a shade tree and an ornamental tree for your yard. Produces an abundant amount of acorns that the wildlife love to eat.
