Loquat Tree

Two-year-old tree that is four to five feet tall

This subtropical, evergreen fruit tree blooms in the fall and early winter and is harvested during the spring.

A mature loquat tree is cold-hardy in 10-degree temps without serious injury, but flowers and fruit are killed if the temperature goes below 28 degrees.

Yellowish-orange, pear-shaped fruits are prized for their flavor.

Grows in a variety of soils.
