Elberta Peach Tree

An 1879 heirloom variety that is the most popular of all peaches in the U.S. This yellow freestone is juicy, ideal for eating, canning and freezing. Developed by Samuel Rumph and named after his wife. It softened more slowly than other varieties. Because of this advantage and the development of refrigerated transportation, peach transport became possible.
