Stuart is used as a standard to measure other cultivars. Its production far exceeds that of any other. 73 lbs of nuts on one tree. (44 nuts/lb.) The Stuart pecan has a thicker shell than typical paper-shell pecans, generously sized, and is one of the most common pecan species. It has a classic taste with a slight sweetness and firm texture. This king is known as the all-purpose producer. Stuart pecans grow well farther north than other pecan types. However, the Stuart tree takes eight to 10 years before it can bear any nuts.
